Kenneth Garett, Ph.D. is a psychologist, lecturer, and author. He has written five books and numerous articles concerning personal growth, self-improvement, and relationships.

Dr. Garett was born in New York City. He attended Boston University for his undergraduate degree, received his Master’s Degree from the University of the Americas in Mexico, and finally completing his Doctoral Degree at the University of Southern California at Los Angeles.

He traveled to India, as a young man, and studied Yoga with B.K.S. Iyengar in Poona, India.

For the past 35 years, Dr. Garett has been a researcher and understands the dynamics of substance abuse in families.  He has been a consulting neuropsychologist and clinical evaluator at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California. He has lectured and taught at universities, governmental agencies, and for airlines and other corporate sponsors both nationally and abroad.

He is a thought-provoking scholar whose newest book, “Happiness, A Positive Addiction”, has been considered an important practical guide for those seeking direction and creating a dynamic and purposeful existence.

Dr. Garett, and his colleagues, maintain a multidisciplinary mental health setting in Palm Springs, California. His emphasis is positive life skills acquisition and life satisfaction development training.

Dr. Garett is a former teacher of counseling in graduate school at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles as an adjunct professor. Dr. Garett is also a life coach with clients in Los Angeles and Palm Springs, his unique approach utilizing principles outlined in his books. Dr. Garett has been an expert in addiction recovery for his entire career. His books and techniques incorporate mindfulness, yoga, and hypnosis as well as behavioral therapy. He has helped innumerable individuals recovery from addictive disorders and other mental health conditions for the past 36 years. His approach incorporates positive psychology, with his extensive knowledge of Yoga and meditation obtained in India under the direct instruction of B.K.S. Iyengar and in Boston under the mentoring of Yogi Shri Khanna. Dr. Garett has trained and continues training the next generation of psychologists
